Halloween and Fall Festivities
Our main Halloween event was the trunk or treat at the church and Cohen didnt much care for it. Too many people and way to loud. He kept taking our hands and leading us out of the crowded gym to the door:) It was mostly for me i guess I want him to have all the Halloween experiences but he really is still too young to understand. Is it just here or does no one trick or treat anymore? We havent gotten one tricker treater in the three years we have lived here.
Cowboy
I already had a warm fluffy bat costume for Cohen but it has been so warm here i had to come up with something else. I came across these chaps and vest at a consignment sale. The storytime i take Cohen to at the library had a little trick or treat for the kids Cohen got to wear his costume. He was excited about the costume not so much about the trick or treating.
I took him to chuckee cheese after and upon coming home I realized i only had one chap. I was pretty devastated. I called them they said they looked everywhere and couldnt find it. I went down there myself to look once Erik got home. I even climbed up the playground and went down the slide looking for it. Nothing. Yes i felt ridiculous. I ended up finding it blown into the next parking lot almost into street.
Pumpkin Painting and Cookie decorating
My friend and I get together for a play date every Wednesday last week we decided to try paints. It held Cohen's interest for quite a while i was surprised both pumpkins were covered by the end and so was my shirt. Later that day there was a cookie decorating at the church. He created quite the masterpiece i think there was more sprinkles than cookie.
Carving
This was Cohen's first year carving pumpkins. Cohen was good about helping to dig out the insides only with the scoop he would touch it with his hands. I tried giving him a butter knife so he could "help" carve but once i got out the cool pumpkin carving knives of course he wanted those instead. Because of all Cohen's help we only ended up carving one, but i think it turned out all right.
Pumpkin Picking
We went to Fenders Farm in Jonesborough to let Cohen help pick pumpkins this year. He was pretty proud with his very own "pumpa"
Banana Phone
He came up with this one all by him self. He saw it on the counter and kept saying bana. So i handed it to him and he ran off . He found a spot on his couch and starting jabbering away.
Shiner
This is the first of many probably but it was the worst injury sustained as of yet. I know lucky it hasn't been worse. He was bouncing around on the couch and fell forward and hit his eye right on the corner of the ottoman. It started to swell immediately. I was sure it was going to be really black because the next day it was so swollen he could barely see out of it, but it actually healed up pretty fast.
Hike to Laurel Falls
We hiked to this water fall for a Saturday activity. I always forget how much work it is to take Cohen hiking. The first half was good because was "level" and Cohen was content in the stroller. Then we made it to a narrow bridge with a rikidy old railing on one side we decided we needed to abandon the stroller. Every time we go i think Cohen will get over his dislike for being in a pack. So he cried most of the rest of the way to get out. Yes a very relaxing stroll in the woods...
Trying to convince Cohen to ride in the pack. He kept stopping to pick up every acorn.
But once we got to the falls he had fun climbing on the rocks and throwing rocks in the water.
