Update of massive proportions. So I am a procrastinator and have neglected by blogging duties. I hope y' all don't get bored reading this lengthy update.

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Kiser

Last week my parents flew out to visit us. We had a lot of fun site seeing, eating out, and of course playing with Cohen and Aggie. Aggie had a constant playmate and Cohen had someone to walk him wherever he wanted to go. Not to mention a few new toys:)

When my parents were visiting we did a day trip to Gatlinburg, TN and the Smokey Mountains. We shopped at all the little shops, ate, and took a little hike to Laurel Falls in the national park. They had the whole town decorated so cute for fall.

Biltmore

Biltmore is in Asheville, NC. It is the largest house in America. It was built by George Vanderbilt in 1895. It is amazing! When my parents were visiting we took a tour of the house and gardens. It really takes a whole day to see the place. It its on thousands of acres has a vineyard, farm, hotel, etc. Anyone who is in the Asheville area should take the time and expense to see it.

Park

My parents and I took Cohen and Aggie to a park near our house. It was Cohen's first time in a swing by himself.

Asheville

So I am finally starting to make friends here. I know after two years. It is hard though because students Erik's age aren't married and the ward is so small. Hardly any young couples. These are the only girls in my ward that are my age. I love them both! We went to Ashville, NC a couple of weeks ago to eat and hang out. Both Cohen and I had a lot of fun.

Water

This little boy LOVES the water. When it is freezing cold he wants to go out and splash in the water. He doesn't care if it is a down pour. Most of the time I give in, put his coat on, and take him out. He also wants me to hold him over the sink and let him splash and of course like all little kids he loves the bath.

Licorice

Made the mistake of giving Cohen licorice one morning.

Not more than a week after Cohen started crawling he started pulling himself up on the furniture and everything else including Aggie. Poor Aggie is Cohen's jungle gym. Cohen is now thinking he can walk. The kid is fearless. He will take off with reckless abandon. He can actually take a few step on his own when he walks from me to Erik if we are sitting a few feet apart. But he tries to climb on everything! I can hardly take my eyes off him for a second. I pretty much have to follow him around all day. He is now thinks crawling is so last month.

Cohen is Mobile

A little over a month ago Cohen started crawling at 7 months 1 week. He was so close for weeks. He knew what he wanted to do, but he would just end up pushing himself up onto his hands and feet or crawling backwards and get frustrated .He did finally figure it out. Crawling has brought on some new challenges for Mom!

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Stewart

Erik's parents came to visit the beginning of September. We are so grateful they made the long 28 hour trip cross country to see us! They had fun getting to know Cohen a little better. And Cohen was glad to have all the attention. Although the trip didn't go quite as planned when Grandma Stewart ended up in the hospital for a severe headache. The hospital ran all the tests they could and luckily it wasn't anything more serious than a migraine. Cohen was also a cranky little boy he was getting over a cold and ended up with a ear infection. It was definitely a trip full of memories.

Amongst the mayhem we did manage to show grandma and grandpa a few sights: A waterfall in the hills outside Johnson City; Boone, NC home to Appalachian State University and a cute old downtown with lots of neat shops; and of course one of our favorite places, Watagua Lake.

Grandpa taught Cohen some bad habits.........
(Don't worry he didn't really drink any)
