Cohen is five weeks old now. I had to take him to the pediatrician today because of feeding and reflux problems :-( but the good news is he is gaining weight really well. At almost 11.6 pounds he is in the 75% percentile for weight.

Cohen makes his video debut!!!

Heres a few videos of our little guy. He is starting to smile and make cooing sounds! It is so much fun!

These cute pages were done by Cohen's Grandma Stewart. Thanks Grandma!

I think that Cohen is starting to look more like Erik. Even his hair looks lighter maybe even a little reddish... But it is starting to fall out. Poor baby has a receding hair line. So who knows what color it will end up.

Tummy Time

I have read it is suggested that parents put babies on their tummies a few minutes a day to strengthen their neck muscles so I try to remember during the day to put Cohen on his tummy. He doesn't really like it and I feel bad for him try to lift is head i feel like I am torturing him.

My mom stayed with us for three weeks to help with Cohen. I am so thankful I wouldn't have been able to do it without her. Now that she is gone we are feeling the blunt of all our new responsibilities as parents. It is very rewarding, but definitely harder than expected. Now that Erik is back to school after a spring break, I am flying solo. I barely have time to brush my teeth and eat. It is a miracle I found time to update the blog.

Cohen is now two and half weeks old. We just had his check up. Everything is well he is healthy weighing in at 9lbs now. Look at his double chin!

Look how tight those little hands are clenched on that bottle!

Aggie is a big brother! Aggie is not sure what to think about his role as a big brother. He is confused about the new little creature in the house and is mostly disgruntled that he is receiving much less attention.

Cohen's First Photo Shoot

After a bath my mom and I decided to take a few pics, hoping to find a few to use in Cohen's birth announcement

Cohen has finally arrived!!!!

Cohen Dean Stewart
born February 14, 2009
8lbs 8oz
20 1/2 inches

On Saturday February 14th (being 4 days overdue) I starting having contractions every couple of minutes. Of course this was at 2:00 am I woke Erik up and we headed to the hospital. After determining I was in fact in early labor I was admitted and we settled in for the long haul. My progression was good at first, received the epidural after a few hours of agony and was well on my way. However, things started to slow they kicked up the pitocin and still after hours I had very little progression and the epidural was wearing off. I was told my chances of a c-section were increasing. I was disappointed but still hopeful. Finally after 20 hours of labor the doctor determined the baby was just not going to fit through my pelvis. So I was prepped for surgery and in less than 45 min at 10:39 pm on February 14, little Cohen was born healthy weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces! We are so happy and so blessed to have Cohen here safe and healthy.

Cohen's First Bath

Bringing Home Cohen

We were discharged after three days we were excited to bring Cohen home. So far he is a really good baby loves his swing and soothie pacifier. He hates baths and diaper changes and has hit dad and the wall amongst other things with shooting flows of urine!

Sent With Love

I saw this outfit about a week before Cohen was born and couldn't decide if I should buy it, but couldn't resist because I just had a feeling we might have a Valentines Day baby!

Getting ready for baby

The nursery is almost done. Erik had a Christmas break dedicated to putting baby furniture and appliances together. So we just have a few more things to hang on the wall and some rearranging to do.
